Asset Vision Registry is designed to be the single source of truth for IT Assets—the definitive IT Asset Register. Flexible import mechanisms enable disparate sources of information to be easily added. You can integrate data from common sources of information such as SCCM then validate and reconcile with Asset Vision’s integrated asset discovery capabilities. Correlate the discovered information with procurement data such as Purchase Orders, Warranties, Advance Ship Notices, and Invoices from various sources.

Consolidate All Inventory Sources
Consolidate all your IT asset inventory sources into a single, modern environment. ILMT™, SCCM®, LANDesk®, Altiris®, vCenter™Active Directory, LDAP, Spreadsheets, Databases, the list goes on. If you have IT asset data we can import it, de-duplicate it and normalize it. We will then enrich it with our own discovery, public web services and catalog. You can add expenses, allocate and track items and use state-of-the-art Business Intelligence tools to mine the data.
From Mobile to the Cloud
Asset Vision Registry can be the IT asset register for all devices ranging from Mobile to the Cloud and everything in between. Specific reporting and data structures store detailed information for smartphones, tablets, workstations, midrange and distributed computers, virtual machines, network devices, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) Cloud offerings.
Asset Vision discovers and keeps track of all software installed on a machine be it a workstation or a server. If a software product was previously installed or upgraded to a newer version then the uninstalled software is still associated with the machine, but it is no longer marked as “operational.” This includes ISO Tags by Software Creator, count of ISO tags by software manufacturer, Digital Product ID by Software Product, with count of DPIDs by normalized software product name and Discovered Signatures by Product along with a count of discovered signatures by software product version including .exe files that are not packaged properly.
SQL Server and Oracle Database Discovery
Registry’s advanced, lightweight, agentless discovery can gather both SQL and Oracle database inventory. For SQL the configuration of the database instances (edition, role, even internal SKU) and their running context (machine details, CPU counts, core counts, cluster and virtualization information) is captured. Oracle discovery provides for both discovery and inventory of versions, options, editions, clustering and virtualization as well as capacity model and CPU and Core Factors
The discovery capabilities of Asset Vision are both wide and deep. A comprehensive range of protocols are supported natively including; NMAP, SSH, WMI, ARP, JDBC, and Web Services. Each protocol probe is used in ways specific to the discovery task underway. Scalable adds additional probes quite often, and the processes that drive the probes can be extended easily to support new device types that need to be tracked. All discovered information is normalized seamlessly via the cloud-based catalog Scalable maintains. This normalization process is essential to accurate decision making based on ITAM data.
Asset Vision has access to a cloud-based location mapping service and internal location mapping. The result is the ability to automatically locate the assets you’re tracking from within Asset Vision. Mapping can be based on an IP address range or virtually any other combination of a discovered asset’s attributes.
Import Acquisition Data
Asset Vision Registry maintains a flexible import mechanism supporting the import of acquisition data that can be adapted to a wide variety of source data. Typical uses include importing of invoices, barcode scans, and Advance Ship Notice documentation. This process provides for a full 360 degree view of IT assets. Discovered information can be correlated with supplier and internal documentation to ensure all assets can be tracked and their lifecycle managed.
Discovery Driven Status Management
The lifecycle of hardware assets can usually be captured by accurately tracking and maintaining their status. Asset Vision lets users configure the number of days that Asset Vision can go without communicating with a device before automatically changing the status to end-of-life. Further configuration allows users to set the number of days that the device is in the end-of-life state before automatically changing it to a retired stage. Finally, all status changes for a device are logged, including manual changes such as the disposal of a device.
SCCM & ILMT Discovery Data
Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) is by far the most widely deployed workstation configuration management tool and IBM’s License Metric Tool (ILMT) is the corresponding technology in use by IBM customers. Asset Vision is directly integrated with both SCCM & ILMT services and enables the rapid population of Asset Vision Registry data with details of all the computers known to these systems. These can be cross-referenced with Asset Vision discovery data to provide the most accurate holistic view of an organization’s computer inventory, and the extent to which SCCM and ILMT have been successfully deployed.
Manage IT Finances
The ability to tightly integrate financial information with the corresponding discovered and reconciled IT assets enables Asset Vision to provide unprecedented visibility into IT costs. The analysis extends from a high-level overview down to precise details including ongoing operational expenses. The flexible import mechanism enables this financial information to be sourced from virtually any external repository.
Automated Warranty Data
Asset Vision’s integration capabilities enable direct access to the warranty web services provided by most hardware providers. This integration enables zero-touch population of accurate and current warranty status across an organizations entire computer hardware estate. Full details of warranty types, service-levels and expiration dates are populated without human intervention. Analysis enables forecasting of future warranty obligations on critical assets so risks can be minimized.
Wizard Driven Discovery
A wizard driven asset discovery system enables all but the most complex of discovery scenarios to be configured with ease. From simple device discovery to deep analytics on Oracle and SQL Server configurations, an intuitive, step by step model guides the user through setup. For advanced, customized discovery, administrators have direct access to discovery settings, and even the scripts that invoke some of the fundamental network calls.
