The Role

Scalable Software a looking for a Data Scientist for a data-rich, enterprise SaaS solution. This is a rare opportunity to be involved in the development of a complex, ground-breaking enterprise software product at the early stages of its development.

We require an individual to take ownership of the data science direction of the product, working to solve problems in areas including relational analytics, complex user-interactions, business relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) and more.

About You

You will be an expert in the analysis, visualisation, and algorithmic computations that extract insights from data in response to business problems, questioning, and hypothesising using data collated from our customers.

You will be used to working in a proactive manner with Product Managers, Developers, QA, Operations,, and more. You are ideally interested in an entrepreneurial working environment where your contribution is valued as much for your ideas as your code. You will be familiar with modern development tools, techniques, and processes that have evolved around cloud delivered SaaS products and always be looking for opportunities to make improvements.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing data science-focussed input into company strategy and future products and solutions
  • Assessing and developing future capabilities and technologies relevant for big data and predictive analytics
  • Working with colleagues to implement descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
  • Managing and integrating customer and third-party data from variety of sources
  • Writing well designed, testable, efficient code and integrating software components into a fully functional system

Essential Skills

  • Degree level education in Mathematics, Scientific, Computing or Engineering discipline
  • Proven experience as data analyst or data scientist
  • Strong mathematics and statistics background
  • Experience with common data analysis tools e.g. SQL, Python, R
  • Good knowledge of Graph Theory and common analysis techniques
  • Experience with software development lifecycle and associated tools
  • Demonstrable experience of applying data science to solve business problems
  • Experience of data visualisation techniques

Important Skills

  • Experience with NoSQL DBs e.g. MongoDB
  • Experience with Graph DBs e.g. Neo4j, Arango DB
  • Analytical scripting skills – Java Preferred
  • Good understanding of Machine Learning

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience of Java
  • Experience of D3 and JavaScript libraries like React
  • Experience of KPI or similar scoring scheme development
