Discovery and Inventory
A fundamental element of any Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) suite is discovery and inventory of the assets an organization is looking to manage. Discovery needs to be non-invasive, easy to administer, efficient, thorough, accurate, broad in scope and responsive to network changes.
For discovered computing platforms, Survey will also inventory the hardware configuration and software installed on those systems. Survey can perform this inventory on range of systems including Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 2003 Server and 2008 Server, Mac OS X (Universal) and Linux.
Inventory functions continually monitor the discovered computer for hardware and software configuration changes, and any changes to the devices location.
These reports, commonly known as IMAC (Install Move Add Change) provide a detailed audit trail of changes to your asset base.
