The WinINSTALL Desktop Management Suite and Desktop Availability Suite provide much more than traditional IT asset tracking. While
hardware and software inventory is a benefit of the inventory management functions, there are now features to allow inventory to help you manage the availability of machines.
On the software side you can obtain an inventory of all applications installed on the machine, inventory on all MSI packages introduced to the database and all the files on the machine. You now have a complete "bill of materials" of all your machines. Now that you have a very complete file level and application level inventory many new capabilities are available.
With a single click you can see the relationship of files to applications viewed right within the WinINSTALL console. WinINSTALL can even tell you when an applications file is missing. This is possible through the relationship of MSI packages to real file level inventory.
Custom asset tracking fields may be used within the asset management capability of WinINSTALL for the inventory of non-scanable assets such as projectors, desks, chairs, etc.
